Case Study – GRP Tank Replacement
Our clients water tank was past its useful life, it was over capacity, leaking and corroding internally on the steel fixings. As the tank was more than 25 years old, the client chose a complete GRP tank replacement over a refurbishment.
The Solution
Cold Water Storage planned and executed the GRP tank replacement project with great results. Here is a summary:
- Install a temporary sectional tank. This was erected in the available space in the plant room and then piped into the current boosted water system.
- Bypass the older tank and then drain it down, strip it out and dismantle it.
- Build the new water tank with two compartments and dual pipework (allowing for uninterrupted maintenance).
- Commission the new water tank into service and then dismantle and remove the temporary tank from site.
